yep yep…
it’s finally here…
my first blog about…
***gasp***
SEX!!! got ur attention? good. it was time… so, i’ve been trying to think of a topic
that would be different than the stuff we’ve talked about on the show and wutnot, which were pretty broad, cuz we’re total phreaks… anywho, i found this blog post while scrolling thru my twitter peeps, by @realadulttalk. the blog is about a conversation that she had with 2 friends in which one friend was explaining to the other two that she thought a guy she was seeing may be bisexual.
now, the question she poses is how her friend could consider staying with this guy, even if it turned out that her suspicions were correct… i found this intriguing because, as we know, most men would LOVE to date a bisexual woman, or at least they think they would… but how many women think about this? i mean, in this day and age where so many Black men are in jail, or not interested in true commitment and more and more Black women are leaning toward the long frowned-upon practice of dating out of their race, could this be the next step in the dating evolution of the Black Woman?
yes, this is also the age of the “down low” man. the funny part is, that i only hear people make the argument that it’s so wrong when referring to men, not bisexual women…
so, i started researching the topic and found that there are SEVERAL Yahoo Groups devoted to “discreet encounters” for both men and women! i was shocked, i guess because i figured that if you wanted to be discreet, you wouldn’t devote a whole group to it…
during my search, i found this quote:
“I am one of those women who is turned on by idea of two men together. In fact, I had a fairly serious relationship with a man who was bisexual. He was forthcoming about his bisexuality from the very beginning and it was never an issue… I found this man to be sensitive and understanding, possessing a kind of gentleness that I haven’t seen in many straight men. Being attractive and sexy as hell didn’t hurt either, but those things were just the icing on the cake. He was also a very considerate lover. Perhaps if more women had positive experiences with bisexual men – and I don’t necessarily mean dating them – there would be more acceptance and understanding.”
pretty interesting point of view… i doubt any of my girlfriends would be down with dating an openly bisexual man…
on mybrotha.com, a staff writer says:
“Men who are homosexual, bisexual, or live outside of what society calls, “heterosexual” — make up another medium-sized number since they don’t typically seek relationships with women. Strangely enough, there are some bisexual men who also desire to be in heterosexual relationships. However, most heterosexual women don’t knowingly choose to date a bisexual man.”
so ladies, what’s your view? would you? did you? why or why not?
